On Mondays, get half-price beef and turkey plates with two sides ($6.97); Tuesdays offer half-price beef and pulled pork plates with two sides ($6.97); Wednesdays offer half-price beef and link plates with two sides ($6.97); Thursdays are Texas-sized with $19.67 Texas dinner plates, featuring three half-pound sliced meats and three large sides; Fridays offer half-pound sliced beef plate with two sides for $9.95; and Saturdays and Sundays offer all-you-can-eat pork ribs for $9.95 (dine-in only).

Outdoor Cooking Series at Eight Row Flint
Every Tuesday in October from 5 to 7 p.m., chef Paul Lewis is taking over the outdoor grill at Eight Row Flint, 1039 Yale. Lewis will prepare a Thai dish featuring Chiang Mai-style sausage with Thai-spiced head-on prawns, crispy jasmine rice, spicy green chile dip and persimmon som tum salad.
Great Banh Mi Cookoff at Chapman & Kirby
Houston chefs will bring out their banh mi A-game for the fourth annual Great Banh Mi Cookoff, held at Chapman & Kirby, 2118 Lamar, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The heated night will feature the battle for the People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice awards, with competitors from spots like Flip ‘n Patties, Peli Peli, Wokker Food Truck and Kiran’s. General admission tickets are $30 and include samples from all participating chefs and food entertainers.

Casa Madero Wine Dinner at Caracol
Caracol, 2200 Post Oak, will host a Casa Madero Wine Dinner at 7 p.m. Casa Madero is the oldest winery in North America, dating back to 1597 when it was started by the invading Spanish troops and the Monks traveling with them; though it has now been Mexican-owned and -operated since the 1800s. Guests can enjoy a reception and amuse bouche followed by four wine-paired courses, including dishes such as miniature wood-roasted airline chicken breast stuffed with queso fresco, lamb lollipop with smashed crispy potatoes, pasilla mole-rubbed beef tenderloin with black rice truffle cake and dark chocolate cake with tamarind-Tajin ice cream and orange-milk chocolate sauce. Love Street Light Circus at Sunset Coffee Building
The Bayou Buddies invite locals and young professionals to join the “Love Generation” for a Love Street Light Circus at the Sunset Coffee Building, 1019 Commerce, from 7 to 10 p.m. The group is recreating the historic Houston psychedelic club at its original building downtown, complete with a light show, DJ, light bites from Good Dog Houston, Treebeards and Café Azur; and beverages from local favorites, including Saint Arnold beer, specialty cocktails from Moving Sidewalk Bar and Kickin’ Kombucha. Don’t forget to get your tickets for the 2017 Houston Press Tacolandia. The third annual taco sampling event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Water Works at Buffalo Bayou Park, 105 Sabine. This year’s lineup of taco purveyors includes Hugo’s, Alamo Tamales, La Calle, Peska and Los Tios, to name a few. Houston Halloween Fest and “The Last Supper” in the Heights
Celebrated chef Richard Knight will be popping up for the “The Last Supper,” a pre-apocalyptic soiree for the soon to be undead at 6 p.m. Held in the the parking lot next to We Olive, 249 West 19th, the ghoulish dinner is the perfect pregame for the Houston Zombie Walk’s 7th annual Houston Halloween Festival, which will be held on the 200 to 300 blocks of 19th. Tickets for the dinner are $100 per person and include entry to the festival (5 to 10 p.m.) and a Halloween themed five-course, family-style dinner with drink pairings. Tickets to the festival alone start are $10.
Houston Halloween Fest Bar Crawl

Saint Arnold Brewery, 2000 Lyons, is hosting a Houston Dairymaids Beer & Cheese Pairingfrom 2 to 4 p.m. Guests can expect Saint A’s handcrafted beers with several cheeses selected and brought by the Houston Dairymaids; one of which — the Willoughby washed with Raspberry AF — is a collaboration between the brewer, Houston Dairymaids and Jasper Hill Cellars. Southern Smoke at Underbelly (outside)
Held in the area outside and around Underbelly, 1100 Westheimer, from 4 to 8 p.m., this year’s iteration of Chris Shepherd’s fundraiser Southern Smoke is set to be the biggest yet, with proceeds benefiting Hurricane Harvey relief. New this year are a total of eight visiting chefs, David Chang, Matthew Rudofker, John Besh, Mike Lata, Ashley Christensen, Jason Stanhope, Rodney Scott and Aaron Franklin; with local chefs including Brandi Key, Hugo Ortega, Lyle Bento, Manabu Horiuchi, Richard Knight, Jonathan Jones, Patrick Feges, Justin Yu, Ryan Pera, Seth Siegel-Gardner, Terrence Gallivan and cooks from Underbelly and One Fifth. Guests can expect yard games and giveaways, a bar and Knob Creek VIP Lounge, and a huge auction, which will take up the entirety of Underbelly. Tickets are $200 for general admission and $350 for VIP.
