Organizing an event is a huge undertaking. If you are looking for an efficient way to keep event overhead costs down, one app claims to simplify the process. The makers of a new free download from Attend.com say it lets event coordinators manage the event check-in process from an iPhone or iPad. Here are several more of the listed features:
- It lets you use an unlimited number of devices to manage an unlimited number of events.
- You can manage attendee lists you’ve uploaded to the app.
- Access data from attendees to do things like create effective seating arrangements.
- Use mobile devices for a quick, efficient and expedited attendee check-in.
- Quickly let the appropriate coordinator know when a VIP guest has arrived.
If the Attend mobile app performs as claimed, it could be a lifesaver for event organizers who have to remember a plethora of details, including seating arrangements, getting the name tags written, tracking all the costs, and remembering to make sure that VIP guests have everything they need. While the Attend mobile app may not do it all, the idea seems to be to automate some of the more important tasks of event coordinating.
In a release from the company on the new app, one regular user, Robert Ferreira, Assistant Vice President of Alumni Relations at Providence College in Providence RI explains:
“Attend.com’s iOS apps allow our teams to spend more time brainstorming creative ideas for events, and less time on event attendee logistics. By reducing the event check-in process and confusion, we can provide each attendee with an engaging first impression that ensures they will return for future events.”
As yet, this program is only available for the Apple mobile operating system. But if you are an Android user, don’t worry. Your version of the app will be available later this year. However, the company has not provided a specific date.
Greg Skloot, co-founder of Attend.com adds
“In today’s technology-driven world, event coordinators need more than checklists and exit surveys. Our free app gives them the resources they need to make the planning and organization stages easier, so they can host more successful events, no matter what their budgets.”
If you need something extra, then the next plan up is Attend.com Pro for $250 a month. The company says the service provides increased event support, including payments and ticketing. There are also email invitations, online surveys, nametag printing, customer relationship management integration and event analytics, according to the company.
