When? 14th-17th July. Where? Benicàssim, Spain. What? Undoubtedly Spain’s greatest festival, this world renowned event boasts sandy beaches, high temperatures and massive acts in the form of Kendrick Lamar, Skepta and Disclosure. Plus, not a muddy pair of wellies in sight. Heaven.
Latitude
When? 14th-17th July. Where? Henham Park, Suffolk. What? The festival for those who are as likely to enjoy a bit of spoke word or improvised theatre as they are the dulcet thuds of New Order or the strains of Grimes, Latitude is the all-welcoming, family-friendly extravaganza out in the green pastures of Suffolk. Only in England…
Lovebox
When? 15th-16th July. Where? Victoria Park, London. What? East London’s finest day party (well, two day party), Lovebox is always a firm summer favourite and this year should be no exception with headliners including underground rap gods Run The Jewels, as well as crowd-pleasers like George Clinton and Major Lazer. No tent required!
Secret Garden Party
When? 21st-24th July. Where? Abbots Ripton, Huntingdon. What? Only the most beautifully Bo-Ho, tripped out fairyland festival around. With stages nestled in the woodland and walkways up in the trees, what better place could there be to catch Caribou and Primal Scream?
Kendal Calling
When? 28th-31st July Where? Lake District, Cumbria What? The only festival held in a scenic deer park (that we know of, anyway). And if that’s not enough to tempt you, try Kelis and her milkshakes, as well as Maximo Park – nostalgia-trip ready – and retro legend Donovan. A true off-the-beaten-track festival if ever there was one.
Standon Calling
When? 29th-31st July Where? Standon, Hertfordshire What? In the sunkissed countryside of Hertfordshire, Standon Calling is a charming independent fest with an eye (and an ear) for promising new talent as well as more established names. This year they’ll be opening opening their doors to Jess Glynne, Suede and Ghostpoet: go for the liberating feels, stay for the tunes.

When? 29th-31st Where? Pikehall Derbyshire What? This award winning festival began as an overspill house party in deepest Derbyshire and has gone on to become one of the country’s most beautiful medium sized events. Local ales and ciders and a top notch line up including Madness and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds make this a must-see.
BST Hyde Park
When? 2nd-9th July Where? Hyde Park, London What? A dual weekend extravaganza in London’s Hyde Park, this one’ll be packed out and buzzing. If you’re after a shot of power pop straight to the cranium then the line up won’t dissapoint: Take That, Stevie Wonder, Mumford and Sons, Carole King for the mums and dads and, for the trip-hoppers among you, a welcome helping of Massive Attack.
Farmfest
When? 29th-30th July Where? Glicombe Farm, Somerset What? A proper rural hoedown of the best kind, Farm Fest is committed to good vibes and good times at a reasonable price. There’s good food to be had, those essential locally sourced ciders to be sipping on, and most of all some great niche acts to be savoured, including Young Fathers Baba Stiltz and Gilles Peterson.
