On the subject of the film’s cast, a slow clap for Konkona for bringing together Ranvir Shorey (her estranged husband), Kalki Koechlin, Tanuja, Om Puri, Vikrant Massey, Gulshan Devaiah and Tillotama Shome – the last being her co-star from the short film Nayantara’s Necklace.
A Death In The Gunj is set in 1979, in McCluskiegunj (the Gunj of the title), a small town in what is now Jharkhand. At various levels, the film is a coming of age story, a romance, a thriller and a journey of self-discovery.
