This blue crush margarita is the closest I’ve come to hangin’ ten and frankly, that’s OK with me. This drink gets it’s luminescent color from our favorite bright blue liqueur — curacao! I know, it looks insane but it actually tastes really good. It’s made of citrus peels, so it pairs perfectly with classic margarita flavors.
We always love the classic lime margaritas but feel free to mix it up with other types of citrus. Just be warned that the greenish lime juice mixed with the blue curacao creates a pretty amazing color — orange or grapefruit juice might muddy a bit.
We like serving this margarita in a glass with crushed ice (hello, blue CRUSH!) and warning: it’s pretty dang strong. Don’t even think of paddling out past the breakers after one of these! We suggest instead drinking these in a more horizontal position, perhaps poolside.
