September Vivo Leads the Market
Vivo led the market with 9.7 million units shipped, accounting for 20% of total shipments. This represented a 17% share, up from 8.2 million units during the same time last year. The company’s phones in the T, V, and Y series performed well, helped along by a large retail presence. Xiaomi and Samsung Notice Declines With shipments falling to 6.8 million, Samsung now holds a 14% market share, up from 16% a year earlier. With Snapdragon chips, the Galaxy S24 lineup maintained some traction in the mid-range. Xiaomi sold 6.5 million units, reducing its market share from 17 percent last year to 13 percent this year. The decline was attributed to reduced demand in entry and mid-tier categories.

Top 5: Apple and Oppo Oppo shipped 6.5 million units, retaining a 13% market share. Quarterly growth of 3% year-over-year was supported by its festive F31 series. Apple moved back into the top five, shipping 4.9 million units and capturing 10% of the market, up from 7% last year. The older iPhone 15 and 16 models and increased demand from smaller cities fueled sales. Other Brands’ Performance
The G-series and Edge 60 lineups accounted for the majority of Motorola’s increase in shipments to 4 million, or 53%, over the previous year. The CMF Phone 2 Pro and Phone 3a drove the 66% year-over-year increase that was reported for nothing else.
