We all have some beauty moments we wish we could take back: A bad haircut here, questionable makeup decisions there. In a new interview with Australia’s Now to Love, Friends star and ‘90s style icon Jennifer Aniston opened up about her biggest beauty regret — and surprisingly, it has nothing to do with ‘the Rachel.’
Speaking to the lifestyle site, the 48-year-old actress admitted, “My biggest beauty regret is the amount of sunbathing I used to do without sunscreen. I mean, baby oil? What was I thinking?….I loved being brown — I loved it, I loved it, I loved it.”
Thankfully, there are some pretty foolproof (and safe!) ways to fake a summer glow, and these days, Jen is diligent about her skincare: In addition to wearing sunscreen “everywhere” (specifically, Aveeno Protect +Hydrate Lotion Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 — a two-time Allure Best of Beauty winner), Aniston also says she takes care of her skin through a healthy diet, avoiding “processed foods, sugars, or high-saturated foods” as much as possible. Another healthy-skin hack? Putting on lotion in the shower, which Aniston says helps to lock in moisture.
Despite her pretty intense skincare regimen (well, the diet part is intense, at least—no sugar?!), Aniston says she’s all about aging gracefully (us, too).
She explained, “I really wish we could shift our perspective on [aging] as a negative, because it’s happening to every single one of us. We just need to be very good to our skin — just take very good care of it. Keep it healthy, and keep it tended to — as we tend to our cars, as we tend to our appliances, as we tend to everything else we tend to.”
Of course, aging gracefully would be much easier if we all looked like Jennifer Aniston, but, you know, whatever.
