The collaborative environment in today’s workplace is changing how, when and with whom we work.
Key to this evolution is the development of technologies such as smart mobile devices, wireless broadband and applications and services designed to simplify the process of bringing everyone together seamlessly.
And that is what a new service called Intraboom seeks to do for small businesses.
Slack, Dropbox, Yammer and others may have similar services geared to address the needs of large enterprises.
But in a press release, Christine Ziebell, founder and CEO of Intraboom, explained her company’s main differentiation.
“There is a clear need for an efficient collaboration tool such as Intraboom in today’s business world, but cost can be an issue to small businesses,” Ziebell said.
Intraboom just came out of beta after a stint in Microsoft’s BizSpark startup program. It boasts an all-in-one cloud communication, team collaboration and intranet solution specifically suited for small businesses.
The platform has a comprehensive messaging system with bulletins, discussions, online chat, mobile text messaging and more, along with file sharing, calendars, tasks and other functionalities.
It also integrates many of the features in social media to encourage social networking in the workplace by allowing users to share and comment on content such as images and videos.
Intraboom starts with a free version followed by the basic tier for $59 per month, and a premium tier for $199 per month.
By addressing the small business segment with a free and fee based pricing structure, Ziebell is giving small companies the opportunity to try a comprehensive collaborative solution capable of introducing new levels of productivity.
In the release, she goes n to explain, “It’s encouraging to see that companies are realizing what efficient communication can bring to their bottom line … It’s time for companies to step up their game in their internal communications.”
Intraboom uses Microsoft’s Azure Enterprise Cloud to host the service creating what it says is a secure platform that can be accessed by anyone. At the same time the company aims to protect connections between users and with the cloud with SLL encryption.
The collaboration space is currently being dominated by Slack, a company that boasts thousands of brand customers such as NASA, Harvard University, Dow Jones, NBC Universal, The Wall Street Journal and many others. But Ziebell has created a solution that can be used by large enterprises and small businesses without any of the complexities of other platforms.
“You also have to remember that employees are generally not interested in using new technical tools if they don’t seem easy and intuitive at first glance,” she explains. “Our product has been designed with this in mind.”
If you are a small business and want to try Intraboom, it is available for free without having to provide any credit card information.
