The iPhone 7 Plus is available in Apple Stores and other outlets starting last Friday in mostly four colours – Rose Gold, Gold, Black and Silver. The Jet Black variant was, however, not available in Apple stores.
We got the Black colour variant of iPhone 7 Plus. It is packed in the standard Apple retail box.
Inside the box, there is an iPhone 7 Plus, Apple’s Lightning EarPods and a 3.5mm adapter.
The new Lightning EarPods comes without 3.5mm jack support. To recall, Apple has ditched the 3.5mm jack in its new smartphones – iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
There is no 3.5mm jack port at the bottom of the iPhone 7 Plus and the phone looks slimmer. It now uses its Lightning port for audio purposes.
The new iPhone 7 Plus is both dust and water resistant. It comes as a first for the iPhone series.
iPhone 7 Plus has a 5.5-inch FHD display with a wider colour gamut and improved colour management.
The iPhone 7 Plus is powered by a new A10 Fusion 64-bit quad core chip, which is 40 percent faster than the Apple’s previous A9 chip.
The new iPhone 7 Plus comes with Apple’s latest iOS 10, with a lot of improved features and a bunch of new ones.
The new Home button on iPhone 7 Plus (& iPhone 7) uses Apple’s Taptic Engine to register the touch, just like trackpads on MacBooks.
In a first, iPhone 7 Plus sports dual cameras – one 56mm telephoto lens and the other wide-angle lens – along with a quad-LED True Tone flash module. Both the rear cameras are 12-megapixel with new 6-element f/1.8 aperture lens.
iPhone 7 Plus also has a 7-megapixel HD FaceTime camera with a newer image processing engine.
The speakers in iPhone 7 Plus are stereo – one at the bottom, and one at the top, and twice as loud as their predecessors. With the 3.5mm jack exclusion, the speakers are on both the sides of the Lightning port.
Apple also ships a 3.5mm adapter inside the retail box – a way to let users connect the 3.5mm jack EarPods to the Lightning port of iPhone 7 Plus.
